Happy Birthday to one of my all-time favorites! Maya Angelou has been a huge inspiration in my life. I will never forget the first piece of work I read of hers: “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”. What a hauntingly beautiful glimpse into her childhood. I was in awe at how she mastered her coping technique of literature throughout her trauma.
