I keep saying I want to get more hiking in.
I have brought up, more than once, that I’ve been thinking about trying to qualify for this local footrace that happens in September.
I will whine, on occasion, that I feel better when I connect with nature every day, but I don’t always make it a priority.
Well, I recently discovered that you can find accountability in the places you least expect.
Over a year ago, I convinced my neighbor to go on a hike with me. Fast-forward 15 months. This guy has hiked every single day since then, has dropped 50 pounds, and has started making healthier food choices. RESPECT!!!!
I am so impressed with this neighbor’s progress on his health journey. The roles have switched and he is now begging me to go on a hike. I am so grateful for this friendship. Even though he jokes that the student has become the master, his persistence and inspiration get me out on the trail when I otherwise would have convinced myself to be too busy.
Where do you find accountability? There is no shame in needing it. I love hiking AND I still need a little motivation to get outside from time to time. Especially if it is a cold day.
If you would like accountability on any of your health goals, DM me 🙂
